MUSEUM HISTORY

Alterations: Sheetrock ceiling added to engine bay, as well as a wall between engine room stalls. Side door has been added to the east wall to meet fire codes for the stairway to the second floor. Original windows on front (North Side) of station have been boarded up to prevent vandals from breaking glass. Rear windows (south side) have been replaced with newer style windows.  (5)

The pole Hole has been covered for safety yet still exist. A building addition was added to the west bay to accommodate a 1912 Aerial Ladde Truck formally kept in the basement of Central Station.  New roofing wasadded by the Terry family.

Significant Features: The exterior of the station is the same as original. All the original doors still exist including the two overhead doors for the fire apparatus. The building has two fire place chimneys, each end of the building (East & West) Building, I would estimate the building is 80% original. The engine room has pressed tin ceilings (currently covered with sheetrock). The walls have subway style brick along the walls to a height of about five (5) feet with plaster continuing to the ceiling. (6)
