Dennis Free – Board Member

Dennis Free – Grew up in North Little Rock, Ar and graduated from Old Main Highschool in 1974. After graduation, Dennis went in to the construction field. At the age of 21, he started applying with the Little Rock Fire Department along with other fire departments locally. After three years of applying, Dennis was hired on with the Little Rock Fire Department on March 24, 1980.

Dennis’s career consisted of Firefighter in 1980, Driver/Engineer in 1996, Captain in 1998 and Deputy Fire Marshal in 2010.

His Duties as a Fire Marshal were to plan a review of the automatic fire sprinkler and fire alarm systems. He reviewed all of the new subdivisions and fire hydrant placements and fire investigations. In 2007 and 2012, Dennis was a member of the Arkansas Fire Prevention Codes review Committee.

After 30 years, 8 months with the fire service, he retired on November 1, 2010 and started a new position with the Arkansas State Police Fire Marshals Office as the First civilian State Fire Marshal Inspector. He has currently been in this position for over 9 years and will continue this position for another 11 years giving him a total of 50 years in the fire service.
