Ricky Cranford – Board Member

Captain Ricky Cranford is a distinguished member of the North Little Rock Fire Department (NLRFD), bringing over two decades of dedicated service to the community. Joining the department on April 3, 1996, Captain Cranford has held various roles throughout his career, showcasing his versatility and commitment to excellence.

Beginning his journey as a firefighter, Captain Cranford’s unwavering dedication and leadership qualities quickly earned him recognition. His exemplary performance led to his promotion to lieutenant, where he continued to serve with distinction, providing invaluable support to his fellow firefighters and enhancing the department’s operational efficiency.

In 2015, Captain Cranford’s exceptional skills and experience earned him a promotion to the role of Administrative Staff Captain, a position that reflects his multifaceted responsibilities within the department. In this capacity, Captain Cranford serves as the Department Recruiter, actively seeking out talented individuals to join the NLRFD and ensuring the department maintains a skilled and diverse workforce. Additionally, he serves as the Hazmat Coordinator, overseeing the department’s hazardous materials response operations and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.

Furthermore, Captain Cranford serves as the GIS Coordinator, utilizing Geographic Information System (GIS) technology to enhance the department’s ability to analyze and respond to emergency incidents effectively. His proficiency in maintaining the department’s computer programs and addressing other departmental needs underscores his commitment to keeping the NLRFD at the forefront of technological advancements in firefighting.

Beyond his administrative responsibilities, Captain Cranford plays a crucial role as the Fire Department’s liaison to the NLR Communication Center, facilitating seamless communication and coordination between the department and emergency dispatch services.
